In 2008, he was honored with the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award, having previously received the Padma Bhushan, the third highest, in 2000. He passed away in 2024 due to age-related health issues.
Ratan Tata was the son of Naval Tata, who was adopted by Ratanji Tata, the son of Jamshedji Tata, the founder of the Tata Group. Who will take over after Ratan Tata?
The question of Ratan Tata’s succession has been a point of interest, especially since he had no children to inherit the ₹3,800 crore business empire. However, the Tata Group has a clear succession plan in place. N. Chandrasekaran was appointed Chairman of Tata Sons, the group’s holding company, in 2017. Moreover, various Tata family members are assuming leadership roles across different divisions in preparation for the future. He is also known as the Pride of India. (Ratan Tata-the Pride of India).
